When you can’t play together, you can play together apart.
With thousands of kids likely to be stuck inside for weeks at a time across the world due to the coronavirus I wanted to do something to help them (and those who are looking after them!).
I’m pulling together ideas of fun activities that can be played via video chat so you can stay in touch with family and friends.
Just because we’re avoiding social contact and some of us are self-isolating we don’t have to lose touch with people or stop having fun where we can!
If you have any ideas or feedback please email fun@playtogetherapart.com.

Guess what I’m dancing to
Summary
Can someone guess the song just from your dancing? Suggested by Elsie (9) from West Sussex, UK.
Instructions
The dancer puts on headphones or mutes the microphone and puts on some music and dances their little heart out!
The guesser has to work out what the song is.
You could decide to give some clues before and/or during the performance, e.g. the type of music (pop/nursery rhyme/hip-hop) or the artist.
Make sure the dancer stays in a space the guesser can see – no cheating by dancing out of sight of the camera!
Adaptations
Make it easier – mime the lyrics. Agree three songs together for the guesser to pick from.
Make it harder – convey the song’s rhythm and atmosphere (not the lyrics) via dance.
